Can I report on Kernel fields without copying them to Account?
Last updated: June 21, 2026
Short answer
Usually yes. If the reporting requirement is inside Salesforce and the Kernel Account relationship is available to reporting, use a custom report type that includes Account and Kernel Account. Reports built on that relationship can display, filter, and group by Kernel object fields.
Copy fields to Account only when a reporting, automation, or downstream-system requirement needs the value on Account.
Check this first
- Can the report use a custom report type?
- Is the Kernel Account linked to Account?
- Does the reporting or downstream tool read custom objects?
- Which fields actually need to appear on Account?
What to send support
- The reporting or downstream tool requirement.
- Example Account and Kernel Account records.
- Field names needed for reporting.
